Innovative Grant Program Fully Funds Training Package
MINNEAPOLIS, February 8, 2021 — The State of Minnesota seeks grant applications from qualified nursing homes interested in training, certifying, and credentialing staff members in quality dementia-care online training. HealthCare Interactive, located in St. Louis Park, MN, has been selected to provide its CARES® online training programs for this initiative. This grant program is funded through the state’s Civil Monetary Penalties (CMP) program and has a value to facilities of $6,543.
This training package includes CARES Dementia Basics and CARES Dementia-Related Behavior training for all facility staff during a one-year period, the CARES Dementia Specialist (C.D.S.) credentialing program for up to 5 staff members per facility for go through the entire 40-hour CARES curriculum, and optional monthly webinars for administrators and educators to provide strategies to improve care for residents, facility-wide.
