HealthCare Interactive CEO Selected to Prestigious SBA Emerging Leaders Initiative

Program Accelerates the Growth of High-Potential Small Businesses

MINNEAPOLIS, April 13, 2021 (BUSINESSWIRE) — Healthcare Interactive, an edtech company dedicated to providing the highest quality caregiver training for Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other brain disorders, announced today the selection of founder and chief executive officer, John Hobday, to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2021 Emerging Leaders Initiative.

The Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive executive-level series intended to accelerate the growth of high-potential small businesses in America’s underserved cities. Developed by SBA and drawing on the experiences of advisors and business leaders in urban communities across the country, this comprehensive curriculum provides the tools to catapult your company to the next level and help it emerge as a force in your community.

“I am hugely honored to have been selected,” said John Hobday, CEO of HealthCare Interactive and creator of the CARES® online training programs. “The application, interview, and vetting process were rigorous and competitive, but participating in the SBA’s renowned program will help take HealthCare Interactive to the next level of growth.”

The Emerging Leaders Initiative was created for established business owners, not start-ups or new entrepreneurs, and participating executives must have annual revenues exceeding $250,000, been in business at least three years, and have at least one employee (other than the business owner). The program delivers customized training for C-level executives, building a three-year strategic growth action plan with benchmarks and performance targets. With over 100 hours of professional training and peer-to-peer counseling over a seven-month curriculum, the Emerging Leaders program is specifically designed to stimulate and support the expansion of participants’ businesses and help the participants emerge as self-sustaining businesses that create jobs and builds communities.

The SBA curriculum provides strategies to access new avenues of capital, offers practical tools to pursue new paths for business development, and surrounds small business executives with a network of government resources and local business leaders prepared to invest time and energy in their businesses.

According to Hobday, “The commitment is two mornings every other week including workshops, meetings with peers, and meetings with other local business leaders. I look forward to expanding my business network and helping HealthCare Interactive become a larger contributor to the local, state, and national community.”

HealthCare Interactive’s mission is to take on Alzheimer’s disease. There are currently 5.7 million people living with Alzheimer’s, and by 2050, that number is projected to grow to nearly 14 million. For more than two decades, the company has been addressing this national crisis by developing the most innovative set of training products for family members and professional caregivers available in the marketplace—CARES. The CARES online video-based programs are easy to use, well researched and published in the academic literature, and can be engaged on any computer or mobile device at home, at work, or on the road.
