HCI Signs Contract to Develop National Training for THE GREEN HOUSE® Project

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—May 1, 2010. HealthCare Interactive, Inc. (HCI) announced today that they have signed a contract to develop a 12-module online educational program for THE GREEN HOUSE® Project, a national non-profit organization involved in the culture change movement that advocates for nursing homes of only 8-12 residents per home as well as a new way of caring for elders.

The planned online education program will provide 12 hours of Green House-related training for Green House staff members. The intent is to create a fully integrated, structured program to complement and interface with their live educational training. The online training is based off of HCI’s proprietary online training format and includes interactive activities, video interviews, role-play video scenarios, administrative time tracking, and a full set of reporting functionality. The program is planned for a 2010 delivery date.

“This is an exceptional business opportunity for HCI. It’s the first time we have leveraged our online training expertise for an outside organization like The Green House Project,” says HCI CEO and Founder, John Hobday. “In addition, this is an important project to me personally because I so believe in the concept of smaller residential communities for older adults in need of residential care. When you see how The Green House homes are organized and how happy the residents are, you find yourself hoping there’s a Green House home in your community if you yourself ever need long-term care. It’s an amazing concept,” says Hobday.

About The Green House Project

The goal of The Green House Project is to de-institutionalizize long-term care and restore individuals to a home in the community by combining small homes with the full range of personal care and clinical services expected in high-quality nursing homes. Each Green House home is physically organized around a large, central living room, dining room, open kitchen, porch, and patio. Plus, each resident has their own bedroom and bathroom. The Green House Project is based in Arlington, VA and is part of NCB Capital Impact’s Community Solutions Group, LLC. For more information, visit www.thegreenhouseproject.org.
