HCI and National Office of the Alzheimer’s Association Co-Exhibit at Pioneer Network Conference

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – August 10, 2012. HealthCare Interactive® co-exhibited with the national office of the Alzheimer’s Association at the Pioneer Network’s 12th National Conference in Jacksonville, Florida, to promote the CARES® Dementia Basics & Advanced Care™ Online Training Program and Alzheimer’s Association® essentiALZ® and essentiALZ® Advanced certification programs.

The main focus of the conference was “culture change.” According to the Pioneer Network, “culture change” is the common name given to the national movement for the transformation of older adult services. This is based on person-directed values and practices where the voices of elders and those working with them are considered and respected. Core person-directed values are choice, dignity, respect, self-determination and purposeful living. These values and practices have been specifically built into all CARES® training programs offered by HealthCare Interactive. In fact, two of the Pioneer Network national board members were instrumental in the creation of HealthCare Interactive’s CARES® content.

During the conference, John Hobday, CEO and Founder of HealthCare Interactive®, met with Peter Reed, CEO of the Pioneer Network, to discuss how the two organizations could work together to further promote culture change and person-centered care nationally.

About Pioneer Network Pioneer Network is a place for those in the field of aging and long term care. The focus is to provide the best community and homecare for elders.
