HCI Presents to 50 Alzheimer’s Association Chapters at 15th Annual Conference

CHICAGO, IL—August 30, 2007. HealthCare Interactive, Inc’s (HCI) will present it’s CARES™ training program to representatives of over 50 Alzheimer’s Association chapters as part of the 15th Annual Dementia Care Conference in Chicago, IL.

“When the Alzheimer’s Association and HCI launched the CARES program,” states John Hobday, President of HCI, “many of the Alzheimer’s Association chapters had specific questions about the program and how facilities in their region would be able to access the training. Our presentation as part of the 15th Annual Dementia Care Conference will allow representatives from over 50 chapters to ask the developers of CARES specific questions about the training program, how facilities in their regions can make best use of the training, and any specific questions about the ordering process or technical support.”

The CARES program is an innovative, web-based learning program for direct care workers and other staff who care for those with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. It serves as the online training portion of the Association’s Foundations™ training program, a coordinated set of in-person and online training sessions for direct care workers and supervisors offered to residential facilities through the Association’s network of state chapters. This training program is unique from other dementia training programs because it specifically incorporates and teaches the CARES approach, a method of providing care for residents with dementia: Connect with the Resident, Assess Behavior, Respond Appropriately, Evaluate What Works, Share with the Team.

Specific information about these two learning programs can be accessed at www.caresProgram.com.
