Eagan, MN—August 13, 2018. HealthCare Interactive (HCI) CEO John Hobday was selected to be one of 10 small business owners to participate in a roundtable discussion with Linda McMahon, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Secretary, a cabinet-level position. The purpose of the roundtable was to facilitate an open and frank discussion about small business-related issues and concerns. Other businesses participating in the roundtable included Burning Brother’s Brewing, Deneen Pottery, RK Enterprise IT Solutions & Staffing, and Superior Service Center Automotive Repair. Specific topics discussed included taxes, regulations, and business challenges such as health care, available work force, and training.
Secretary McMahon presented her Pledge to America’s Workers initiative. The pledge asks small businesses to invest in the advancement of their current and future work force by providing individuals with opportunities to develop skills that will help them succeed, not just in their current role, but throughout their careers. As an educational organization, HCI is proud to have signed the pledge and encourages other businesses to also do so.
“It was an honor to be identified as a small businesses leader in the region to participate in the roundtable with Secretary McMahon. She seemed to be listening to each and every one of us and hearing our concerns. I appreciated that,” stated CEO John Hobday, who represented HCI at the roundtable.
HCI receives technical assistance from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) located within the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis campus, Minneapolis, MN.
