Gentiva Hospice Chooses CARES® Training for Locations Nationwide

As an important component of its Memory Care program, Gentiva® Hospice has selected the HealthCare Interactive® CARES® online dementia-care training for all of its hospice locations nationwide. The agreement will ensure that Gentiva Hospice employees at all locations will have the opportunity to learn quality dementia-care strategies and become certified in the Alzheimer’s Association® essentiALZ® certification.

“Dementia is reaching a crisis state in this country, and going forward, caring for this sector of the population is only going to become more urgent,” said Gentiva’s Senior National Hospice Medical Director, Dr. Ronald J. Crossno, MD, FAAFP, FAAHPM. “Gentiva is responding to this need with specialized training for its clinicians, social workers, and others who work with patients and families.”

Gentiva has always been an innovator in developing specialized programs, whether it’s addressing balance dysfunctions through its Safe Stride® program or congestive heart failure through its cardiopulmonary program. The addition of Memory Care to focus on the specialized care needs of patients with dementia marks a unique chance for Gentiva to once again lead the industry in enhancing the level of care provided to seniors.

“We are really looking forward to building a strong and long-term relationship with Gentiva throughout their facilities,” said John Hobday, CEO and Founder of HealthCare Interactive. “Not only will this give their staff members vital dementia training, but it will allow them to communicate their distinction in the hospice marketplace to existing and prospective families and staff members. This is a great collaboration for all parties involved,” said Hobday.
